Video Resolution?

Okay, I enjoy this computer. It has a pci video card on it. It is running window 98 (dont ask why, its a long story). The color settings randomly reset to 16 colors and the resolution switches to 640x480. Is this a driver problem? or a hardware problem? This happen randomly, not when rebooting or powering on.

Answer:

It is a software driver issue. Contact the businessman of the PCI card or try to find an updated driver at http://www.driverguide.com/

Get a new computer and attain off of Win98 ASAP!!!
Sounds more resembling a software problem if all you do is reset the resolution wih no probs, some elder gaming software may not be resetting the graphics when you close it down.
Its your hardware which is either outdated or requirements upgradation....Also your processor seems to me is not doing its Job in good health....Get it checked....
Without actually seeing the PC I would hold to ask what type of applications are you running. If you are doing video work or playing games then I would give attention to first off that this would be a strengthen issue. Some applications will set your refresh rate to enduring 60MHz, 72MHz etc and if your monitor can not refresh at that rate it will switch your settings. Windows 98 be good and buggy next to those issues. You might want to check to see if you can lock your application into a refresh rate that your monitor is effective of. This might fix your issue if those are the type of apps your running. Hope this helps
ok do yourself a fasvor and carry rid of os 98 and get a workstation that has at smallest 1.5 gightz and a really greeatgraphics card and then u will be contained by great shape then progress and throw it all away inflict something faster and better will have come out
