What display card (supports 1680x1050 ) would you recommend for Viewsonic VX2025 next to a budget lower than $200US?

Answer:

I've get some suggestions... in both PCI-Express and AGP mixture. You'll definately want to use the digital connector (DVI) so all cards suggested will hold both an analog and digital connector.

The ranges given are relative to your price point.

Basic - home office, Internet surfing, no games:

AGP: ASUS Geforce MX4000 (23.99 + s/h) relation #1

PCIe: MSI Geforce 6200TC (36.00 + s/h) link #2

Mid-range - mostly office/Internet use, some games:

AGP: SAPPHIRE Radeon 9600 (57.99 + s/h) cooperation #3

PCIe: MSI Geforce 6600 (76.99 + s/h) link #4

Upper-range - will play most games pretty resourcefully.

AGP: SAPPHIRE Radeon X1600PRO (139 + s/h) link #5

PCIe: SAPPHIRE Radeon X800PRO (149 + s/h) connect #6
I have my resolution set at 1680x1050 for my Dell widescreen monitor. The display card that I use allows the user to create customer resolutions. It is kinda outmoded though, since I bought it 4 years ago. It is an NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX 440.
