Watching movies on computers?

I want to survey a DVD on my laptop but it isn't a true widescreen, it cuts off the majority of it so that the video is framed next to a black section even if i select fullscreen.

Answer:

watching movies on computers, depends on monitor and video card, sometimes it is really fun... I have my movies on computers while at collage. It's always easier...
That sounds common to me...I suppose it depends on your laptop screen dimensions.
monitor it on a tv.
Then don't ues a wide eyeshade dvd.
This is because of the video format of the DVD. They are all resembling that, unless you go into the option of the program and instead of selecting widescreen, try Pan and Scan. This will cut bad the sides of the movie, but the overall picture will be bigger.
You could get a widescreen monitor to hook up to your laptop if you really want to see movies with your laptop though that edges your mobility with the laptop and the monitor

If you don't want to do the 400 dollar pick just gain full screen movies
Watch them next to VLC Media Player. You can change the picture by right clicking the video and messing around next to Aspect Ratio and Crop. You can download it for http://www.VideoLan.org
