TV doesn't show desktop items?

I hold connected my laptop (Compaq Evo N1050v) to my tv using an S-video cable. The TV shows the desktop background but no icon. Please help.

Answer:

Check for a specific knob on the laptop for your monitor usually where the F Key's are (F1, F2, F3, ect.).

You'll probably hold to click the FN key at impossible to tell apart time.

This should change the mode you see your computer on your tv.

Also work with the Display Properties on Windows (Right click on the Desktop and click Properties).

Your video card may also own some settings (an icon maybe next to the Clock) you can vary or set regarding this issue.

This logically depends on your video card and whether or not you have installed the correct drivers/software for it.
It's because it is extending you existing desktop onto the tv. You can devolution that by going into display properties.
