trying to connect my laptop to my tv through the pale Composite Out nouns. Help?

i hold a yellow Composite Out jack on my laptop, not an S-Video out , and a few days ago i hooked it up to my tv and instantly have a duplicate of my desktop on my tv. now i dont hold anything... i dont remember what i did, if anything, to change the settings, ive tried extending my desktop onto the second monitor contained by the display settings but every time i do and i hit apply it just go back and keep saying that zilch is connected, and ive tried hitting F5 a few times and still nothing... this is a repost... next to a few details added. but can anyone help me and consent to me know what it is i need to do to configure my laptop to display it on my tv?


Answer:

Most laptops have a function switch that you have to press to see output to an external monitor. You should find it on the top row of keys. Probably F8. Press the blue function switch and this key totoggle between 3 modes. 1 - built contained by screen; 2 - both; 3 - purely external screen. The function push button might say "CRT/LCD" or show two monotor screen. Once you've got it displaying on both, play around beside extending your desktop.
Right Click on the Desktop and pick PROPERTIES. Look for the monitor selection sector. You might be able to set duplicate screen, or even side-by-side screens.

You'll have need of to pick up the TV remote. Click MENU, and keep clicking MENU until you own the choice of ANTENNA or LINE. Choose LINE (it may say CABLE or something close to that).
you usualy have to press one of the function key and note your contraption may only be capable of generate one instance of the video frame
