I hold a 6600gt, and an x1600 and they both play BF2 pretty well, at mostly milieu. Im betting they can handle BF2142 basically as well, because its indistinguishable exact engine.
I would get a PCI-Express 256mb Turbo cache but next after you will get it later you got another problem.

The lagness of the clear in the hobby can sway the performance and grounds you to set the lowest amount of graphic.

I am still trying to research on what I don`t know causeness of laggness in the clear. To my knowledge, within is no reason why a 256mb PCI-Express hold to lagged Battlefield 2142 when other games close to Call of Duty 2 run smoothly. I figures that I involve to upgrade my whole motherboard system to a AM2 that support difficult speed system memory that are clock beyounds 1 Giga bits/s
