tv as computer monitor?

how can you turn your TV into a monitor for your computer

or what kind of cable hook up if this is possible

Answer:

My computer have an s-video port and so does my TV. I bought an s-video cable from Best Buy. After my TV and computer got connected next to the cable, I hit the menu button on my TV and I set the TV on s-video. After that, it depends on what computer you have. I own an IBM Thinkpad so I had to include a new display development after I pressed Fn and F7 together.

I'm sure there are other ways, but this is one mode.
You'll need a video card next to ether RCA out or S video.

Unless you have a plasma or HD tv, I wouldn't recommend using it, as your resolution on your monitor is exponentially better.
you can do it, if your tv have a input for a pc signal (vga, dvi, svideo)

they are adapters out within that turn signals from vga into your standard (yellow cable) so you can use the red, white, yellow combo for elder tv's
alot of computers have an s-video output within the back of it so you can merely buy an s-video to s-video cable. But if your tv does not have an s-video input later just buy an s-video to composite video cable.

If you are constantly working on a computer, you can examine TV on your computer while taking a break from work, or only scrutinize your favorite TV program. Also, you can watch a TV program while the computer is downloading background or busy with some CPU intensive process. For folks staying in a small flat, space is save when your computer also functions as a TV. For more instructions please visit at
